How to Register someone for Arisia using CONGO
Step 1: Log into CONGO
- Use either your registrant number (aka 'badge id' aka 'fan id'), or your badgename.
- Make sure you select the correct convention / year.
Step 2: Look up the person to see if they're already in the database.
- Use the 'Quick Search' to enter in any part of the persons first name, last name, company name, or badge name. Multiple hits will be listed, and you can pick which one is the person you need.
- If they are found, proceed to Step 4.
Step 3: If they are not in the database, create them
- PLEASE make sure someone is not in the database before creating them. Look up various misspellings of their names, other names they may go under, married names, anything that might match. The database is VERY large. If you still can't find them, create a new entry...
- Select [C]reate a New Registrant
- Fill out the appropriate information (the only super-important data is badge name, firstname, and lastname. Email is important, since that's how they'll get notification of the registration.
- Assuming the create registrant process goes successfully, proceed to Step 5.
Step 4: If found, check their information:
- Name
- Street address
- Email address
- Address sharing property (editable via 'Properties...')
- 1 = Don't contact
- 2 = Add to Arisia's mailing list
- 3 = Ok to share with other SF organizations
- Any other special properties (guest, dealer, staff, etc) (also in Properties...)
Step 5: Register them
- Click 'Register', and select the proper settings:
- Membership type, payment type and payment amount are the important fields at the top.
- Note is good if you want to put something about other people paid for or dealer info.
- Affliate is unused.
- Leave "Process immediately" checked.
- Leave "Checked in" and "Print badge" unchecked.
- Check the "Send confirmation email"
- Put "reg@arisia.org" into the "CC mail" box.
- If the person needs to fill out the babysitting form, change the "Template to use" to "Email (babysitting)", otherwise it should be 'Email-1'.
- Click "Continue".
