SoundRequirements

Sound for the Masquerade (incomplete)

All sound will be mixed down to mono. All speakers will be playing the same sound.

  • Sources:
    • MC Microphone - Directional, on stand with boom arm
    • Hand Held Guest Microphone (optional)
    • VoG? Microphone - hand held, directional
    • Cassette Player - with cabling to connect to console
    • CD Player - queueable, pauseable, with cabling to connect to console
    • DVD Player feed for projection half time show - needs direct boxes
  • Outputs:
    • Queueing headset for tape wrangler
    • Monitor wedge on stage
    • Monitor wedge facing front rows of seats to assist middle
    • Left and Right Front of House Speakers
    • Feed to clearcom (optional)
    • Four channels of amplification to set separate levels for each of those speakers

Desirable items:

  • Graphic EQ to deal with room
  • Wireless Mics (deal with special needs, prewire MC?)

Wish List items:

  • Sabine type audio processor for feedback prevention and auto room eq (Room is 'hot' for echos)

    • 2 Directional Microphones
    • 1 Boom stand for MC Mike
    • Mic Cable to run from Microphone to snake (30')
    • Mic Cable for VoG? Mic (10')
    • Snake - 200' 8 in 2 return minimum, preferred 4 return
    • 2 Direct boxes for DVD adaption
    • 2 cables to connect direct boxes to snake (30')
    • adapters to feed DVD to direct boxes (cables)
    • power feed (extension cord) from stage power box to DVD/projector tray (30' ?)
    • 4 channels of amplification with separate gain (can be self powered speakers or external amplification)

      • on stage monitor wedge (low)
      • front of house wedge/speaker
      • house left speaker (must push sound 100') speaker must be on stand

      • snake to amp x4 (adapters/short)
      • amp to monitor speaker 20' ?
      • amp to house center wedge 20' ?
      • amp to house left/right 50' (depends on amp location, 30' might be plenty)
    • Graphic Equalizer
    • DVD Player that can feed projector and quickly queue movie studio press dvds
    • Projector that can throw large screen and take feed from DVD player
    • Cassette Player with headphone out for queueing
    • CD player, queueable, with headphone out preferred
    • adapter cables to take cassette player and CD player to console
    • audio mix console minimum 8 in, mono out (stereo out fine, four channel out fine)
    • Lights for Audio portion of control center:
      • light for mix down console
      • light for tape wrangler

    • snake with 16 in and 4 return 200' instead of 8 in and 2/4 returns

Setup Time Requirements

  • Snake must be run and taped down before large public event
    • Give 4 hours to run and tape snake given other interruptions
  • Speakers and amps take less than 2 hours to set up
  • Remainder of Audio should take less than 2 hours to set up
  • Stage must be set before snake, speakers, amps can be set
